Mobile app design and website for Make-A-Wish
Make-A-Wish is an international non-profit organisation fulfilling wishes for children with life threatening diseases. Early 2015 Digiti built a smartphone app to help them with their mission. I helped define features, established a visual style and designed a few key screens.
Building an app in one week
One week. Monday till Friday. The entire team went on a retreat to the Belgian Ardennes. There was no cellphone reception or internet, allowing maximum focus for this project.
The visual style was established by me. With some review from other designers I refined it and created a concise style guide to get all designers on the same level.
The app was split into four key functionalities. I took the lead on crowdfunding wishes and representing the many years of Make-A-Wish in a fun dashboard.
The two other sections allowed people to help Make-A-Wish by offering items they had laying around the house, and a blog where the fulfilled wishes were shared with the world.
Continuing a success
The app became a succes in Belgium, and also received international interest. This lead to a new collaboration with Make-A-Wish and Digiti to redesign the website for the Flemish division.
I designed the new website for Make-A-Wish. The visual style from the app was extended to suit a bigger screen, resulting in a consistent brand experience.
